Featured Training: “Follow the Signs”
This in-depth training, developed by a former tobacco industry employee, offers an inside look at tobacco industry marketing practices. It includes two parts: 1) The Impact of Industry Contracts on the Placement, Presence, Price, and Promotion of Tobacco in Black Communities; and 2) Tobacco Industry Practices in Black Communities Vs. The 1998 Master Settlement Agreement.
Traveling “Wall” Exhibit
“The Wall” is a large, visually striking exhibit that reminds us of some of the talented African Americans who have lost their lives from illnesses caused by tobacco. It includes a unique timeline of tobacco-related events that have taken place in African-American history. “The Wall” is available for exhibit nationwide.
“Voices from the Village” Toolkit
This toolkit offers radio public service announcements encouraging African Americans to quit smoking. Also included are helpful tips on getting the PSAs played on your local radio station. PSAs feature the voices of actress S. Epatha Merkerson, actor and activist Harry Belafonte, and sportscaster James Brown of NFL CBS Sports.
